Hello everyone! As some of you may have realized, I am running MTAC a little differently this month. Instead of running it on my new page, I've decided to move it over to the forums. Instead of audio and music being in the same challenge, there are now two pages (one for each). I've moved it over to the forums because it might get more traction that way and the showcases will give the artists who participate more exposure. I will still be announcing it on my page, but this won't be where everything is run.

Hello and welcome to the MTAC 2022 Showcase!!

As you all know, the aim of this challenge was to create a piece of art with the theme of The Night. You had to submit your piece of work before the end of the month and after the start (1-end of the month). If you missed out, don't worry. There's always next month.

Unfortunately, I am unable to participate in this month's MTAC because of some technical issues.

HELLO EVERYONE!

Welcome to the MTAC July 2022! This is a short fun challenge which I will be hosting monthly for all the artists and creative people out in the lands of Newgrounds. If this is your first time hearing about MTAC, make sure to read through this before you submit anything for the MTAC. There just may be something you don't know!

WHAT IS MTAC?

MTAC (pronounced "em tack") is a challenge a friend and I had come up with a few months back. MTAC stands for "Monthly Theme Art Challenge" and is pretty much what it says in the title. I make a list of possible themes (ranging from Steampunk to Dream) and put them all on a spin wheel. At the start of every month, I spin the wheel to see the theme for the month. Whatever the theme is, we have to make something to do with that theme (of course participating is optional). If you are participating, you will only need to make one piece to get featured. If you make more than one then message me which one you want on the showcase (Just to stop clogging). At the end of the month, I would put on a little showcase of all the submissions. Perhaps, if there are a lot of people participating, I could put up a poll and let people vote on who is the winner of the month. If I do that then there will be separate votes for each category of art. Perhaps even sponsors could happen or I could pour a little money in.

tl;dr

I get a theme for the month and all participating people need to make a creative original piece with the theme. At the end of the month, I will host a showcase with one from each participating member.

HOW DO I KNOW IF I CAN PARTICIPATE?

Anyone can participate as long as it's something creative.

You can submit:

• Artwork (Illustrations, pixel art, 3D modelling etc)
• Songs & Pieces (Pretty much anything audio. Within reason.)
• Voice acting (If you can find a way to do it)
• Short games (If you are able to fit that in a month)
• Writing (Stuff like short stories, plays and more. Yes, let's show the writers on Newgrounds some love)

Let me know if there is something you want to submit which doesn't fall under these categories. If you're worried that you aren't good enough for the challenge, don't be! This challenge is open to people of all skill levels and was made to help you broaden your skills and style to help you improve. I will comment on all of the submissions (depending on how many submissions there are. I am only human) with my honest feedback which might also help with improvement.

Also, any NSFW posts will not be featured on the showcase.

HOW DO I ENTER?

It's honestly simple! Comment down below your submission on the month's page (not this one) and I will look through them and get them ready for the showcase.

WHAT IS THIS MONTH'S THEME?

This month's theme is The Night. This theme is exactly as it says. Anything to do with the night. For artists, you could do a late-night cafe or the moon. For musicians, you could do something like a nocturn. Remember, be as creative as you'd like with the theme. They're broad for a reason!

Woah! I check Newgrounds out one more time before I went to bed and I saw a message. It was sent by a user (or bot) named G-bot. It basically told me that someone purchased me a month's upgrade!

I'm running who I think it might be in my mind, but I'm just dying to know who showed me a random act of kindness!

Usually, I don't really take down my songs even if they are garbage. But this one will be an exception.

I'm going to be taking down Sweet night of Solace. This is a song I am unhappy with and I believe I can do so much more with it. Sweet Night of Solace was alright at best. I feel like it's got a really nice melody which could be used for so much more. That's why I'm going to take it down and likely use it again later in a different piece. That's about all I wanted to say.

Hello everyone, hope you're having a great day! This isn't really an apology but more of an explanation on my I haven't been making any music recently. So, over the past few months, I've started to really lose the love of music overall. I've stopped playing instruments and music composition in general. I've actually started to grow bitter towards music. I'm not too sure, it may be real-world issues affecting my music or just a general disinterest in music. I feel that I'm not improving and that I'm not making any progress in music. So this is an official farewell to everyone who loves my music or knows me on Newgrounds. I'm going to completely get off the platform and focus on other things in my life, I feel that it's time to focus on what's truly important to me and let go of the things that aren't. Goodbye Newgrounds and music in General.

That of course is an absolute lie. I absolutely love music and I will never stop loving it. Everything I said there was false and I am actually preparing to further my music production and quality. I'm planning on experimenting with a couple more genres before I choose two or three genres that I really like making. I know that making songs of different genres all the time is no way to build a community and to keep fans. I've understood that from day one. I'm going to start taking things more seriously and hone in on music genres that I really like.

As some of you may know, I haven't been working on any songs at all this year. The song I posted this year was something I finished last year. The reason for that is that I've been in the mountains learning something new. I've been learning Fl Studio. For the past two months, I've been toying around features and learning how to do genres like Techno, EDM, Lofi Hip-Hop, and Dubstep. Late last year, some family members and friends found out that I do music (they found my Spotify). For Christmas, I got FL Studio as a gift. I've always found Sibelius to be easy to use but very limiting as a DAW. Sibelius isn't meant for making and editing music, it's meant for notation. FL Studio is such fantastic software, it's so free and there's so much to it. The quality of the soundfonts I regularly use has oddly gone up and there are so many new effects I can mess with to make the song go over more smoothly.

This does have some drawbacks, however. I am not going to have to spend a lot more time learning how to do genres I've already done like Orchestral etc. It's alright though because I love learning these sorts of things and I think it would be a fun challenge for me. If any of you know of any cool features or helpful shortcuts in Fl studio, please let me know. It would be very much appreciated.

I will be rating these songs based on which one I like most, not on how much effort they took or how skilful they are. Hello everybody! I'm here to inform you all that I have created a second account. "Why do you need a second one?" You may ask. Well, it's a place to post the music which I made for games or animations. It's a nice way to spread the music and advertise the games that I'm helping in a little. Well, I don't really want to have projects that weren't my idea on my primary account. Sometimes I collaborate with people where I do something as small as editing the music together. I'm probably not going to upload previous compositions for games since most of them I lost touch with the original owner and I want to make sure I don't give off any spoilers for the game by releasing the music.
